Cookie policy

Last updated: April 24, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) Sofia uses on https://www.sofia-post.com and the Sofia web and mobile apps (the "Service"), why we use them, and how you can control them.

It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes the wider personal data processing carried out by the Service.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. It allows the website to remember your actions and preferences (login state, language, accepted consent) over a period of time, so that you do not have to repeat them every time you come back. We also use technologies that work like cookies, including localStorage and sessionStorage.

2. Cookie categories we use

2.1 Strictly necessary (always active)

These cookies are required for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled. Examples: keeping you signed in, remembering the chosen language, storing your consent preferences.

2.2 Analytics (optional)

These cookies allow us to understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it (which pages are popular, where users drop off). They are deposited only after you give consent and can be disabled at any time. We aggregate the results and never link them to your name or email.

2.3 Marketing (optional)

These cookies allow us to measure the performance of our advertising and to show you relevant content. They are deposited only after you give consent and can be disabled at any time.

4. How to manage your choices

  • In Sofia: click "Cookie preferences" in the footer to update or withdraw your consent at any time.
  • In your browser: you can block, delete or restrict cookies via the browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the Service (sign-in, language).
  • Do Not Track: we honour DNT by treating analytics and marketing cookies as not-consented when the signal is detected.

5. International data transfers

Some third-party providers (Google, Meta) may transfer data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers rely on the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and additional measures. See section 7 of our Privacy Policy.

6. Retention

Cookies are kept for the lifetime indicated in section 3. Your consent choice is kept for 12 months, after which we ask you again. You can withdraw consent at any time in "Cookie preferences".

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Material changes are notified via the consent banner so you can renew your choice.
